Serrano serves key posts in 2009
Jose
M. Serrano, broker with RE/MAX United and RRAR board member, was recently
appointed to serve as the 2009 Liaison to Chile by Charles McMillan, president
of the National Association of RELATORS®.
Also, during a recent
meeting of the North Carolina Real Estate Education Foundation, Serrano
was elected treasurer for 2009’s NC Reef.
Pitt
selected for academy
Teresa
Pitt of Century 21 Vicki Berry Realty has been selected to participate
in the North Carolina Association of REALTORS® 2009
Leadership
Academy , which trains agents for future leadership positions.
The academy consists of intensive training in leadership skills, team-building,
goal-setting, network-building and communication skills.
Tate Jr. honored with civilian award
Allen Tate Jr., founder and chairman of the Allen Tate Company, has received
the Order of the Long Leaf Pine,
North Carolina 's highest civilian honor. He was recognized for his outstanding
service to the state in the areas of planning, regionalism and transportation.
A life-long public servant, Tate currently serves as chairman of the Charlotte
Chamber's Regional Roads Committee, the Toll Roads Solution Committee and
is a member of Charlotte/Mecklenburg County's Committee of 21 on roads.
In addition to numerous leadership positions, awards and accomplishments
in the real estate industry, Tate has also served as founding member of the
Real Estate and Building Industry Coalition and the Shelter Providers Political
Action Committee Enterprise; chairman of the Mecklenburg Building Development
Commission; chairman and member of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Planning Commission;
and a member of the Governor's Urban Transportation Task Force.
The Order of the Long Leaf Pine is named for the official state tree of
North Carolina . Recipients are selected for contributions to their communities,
extra effort in their careers, and many years of service to their organizations.
Past recipients include Michael Jordan, Charles Kuralt, Maya Angelou, the
Rev. Billy Graham, Rick Hendrick, William C. Friday, Doug Marlette, Fred
Chappell, Dale Earnhardt, and Bob Timberlake.
