NAR increases its portion of membership dues
NAR increases its portion of membership dues
The National Association
of REALTORS® has increased its share of members’ 2008
dues payments.
Due to increased lobbying
and grassroots efforts to ensure that REALTOR® interests
are well represented, especially during this election year, the 2008 nondeductible
dues computation has increased from 22 percent or $18 to 31 percent or $25.
This change relates only
to the NAR portion of our non-deductible dues. Remember, that all three
associations -- NAR, the North Carolina Association of REALTORS® and the Raleigh Regional Association of REALTORS® --
have a portion of dues that is not deductible. You need to know this when
you or your accountant prepares your 2008 tax return.
This change in NAR’s portion of the dues makes this year’s
total non-deductible amount for all three associations $53.30.
