Giving of yourself to others
“Service
is the rent we pay to be living. It is the very purpose of life
and not something you do in your spare time.” – Mariam
Elderman Wright
Whether it’s for social reform or to achieve a personal goal
you have set for yourself, if you want to give time and service to
the community – and have fun while doing it – then you
need to meet with Raleigh Regional Association of REALTORS®’ Community
Service Committee on the third Tuesday of each month.
The Community Service
Committee’s mission is “to
make significant and positive contributions to the community through
a collective effort of service to local charitable organizations.”
Some of the committee’s past projects include: Angel Tree, Susan
B. Komen Race for the Cure, college scholarships, Miracle League, Shepherd’s
Table, Building Together Ministries, Interfaith Ministries, Passage
Home and the Food Bank.
This year the group may even be collecting coats for a Coat Drive
and building ramps for senior citizens in our community.
There’s so much to be done and while “the harvest is plentiful,
but the workers are few,” the committee needs your help.
The Community Service
Committee also recognizes the REALTOR®
and the real estate office who have shown exemplary volunteer service
to the surrounding community. We look for those who make a committed
and sustained impact during the year to one or more organizations/charities.
This is another way to get involved through service. Get your office
involved in a group project or let us know how YOU are serving the
community.
