Burger part of green initiatives
Marsha Burger of Fonville Morisey recently helped create a set of search
features for Green Building Attributes, which is now a part of the local
Triangle Multiple Listing Service (TMLS). These features can be used to search
for homes that feature green characteristics, particularly those of green
building techniques, certifications and products.
The TMLS initiative was several years in the making and aimed at giving
proper appraisal values to homes with green features.
Burger has been a long-time member of the Green Building/TMLS task force
and is the owner of Green and Healthy Built Homes LLC. As a Certified Green
Professional, she also does presentations on green building at high schools
and for other local organizations.
Other members of the
task force are Michele Myers, president of MSquared Builders and chair
of the North Carolina Home Builders Association’s Green
Building Council; Leigh Scott, director of Green Building Program; Michael
Chandler of Chandler-Design Build; Randy Lanou of Studio B Architecture & BuildSense;
Blakely Huntley, loan officer with BB&T; and Bob Reeves of Mosher and
Reeves Appraisals.
