RRAR benefactor displays work at VAE
Raleigh artist Shade Elam Maret was recently chosen from dozens of area competitors
to display her paintings at the Visual Arts Exchange (VAE), sponsored by
the Allen Tate Company.
Maret has donated paintings
to the last two REALTORS®
Political Action Committee silent auction fundraisers. See more of her work
on display through Nov. 8 at Cindy’s House restaurant on
Chatham Street in
Cary.
The VAE, located in downtown
Raleigh, is the oldest private nonprofit visual arts organization in the
city and is dedicated to serving emerging artists and enriching the cultural
environment. VAE offers monthly exhibits, operates a retail gallery, conducts
an annual student scholarship competition, provides arts education and development,
and installs exhibits in public venues. VAE is open Tuesday through Saturday
from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on First Friday’s until 9 p.m.
