Fall Voter Projections: Get Ready for a Wild Ride …

Your association's projections

State election officials report huge increases in new voters in recent months: about 257,000 have been added since January, roughly 50,000 of them since the May primaries. Of the total, 145,000 voters have registered as Democrats, 17,000 have registered as Republicans and about 95,000 voters have registered as unaffiliated. Most of the unaffiliated voters, election officials say, are young, black voters registering for the first time.

All totaled, there are now 5.9 million registered voters in North Carolina and Bob Hall of the political watchdog group Democracy North Carolina expects the total to surpass seven million by November.

Raleigh Regional Association of REALTORS® directors, Government Affairs Committee members and Leadership Academy students recently participated in 25 candidate interviews to help determine who the association should endorse. The races RRAR is weighing in on include the following:
