Raleigh , NC (September 12, 2007) Municipal candidate and bond endorsements for the Raleigh Regional Association of REALTORS® were announced (RRAR) at its Board of Directors meeting this morning.

Tommy Craven, Jesse Taliaferro, James West, Phillip Isley and Mary Ann Baldwin for Raleigh City Council and the current Mayor Charles Meeker.  The board also voted to endorse Nels Roseland, John Rigsbee and Tommy Byrd for Cary Town Council and the current Mayor Ernie McAlister.   Sean O’Brien was selected as the single endorsement for Wake County School Board.  In addition, the board chose to endorse the following other candidates in notable races – Rob Bridges and David Camacho for Wake Forrest Commissioner, Charlie Adcock for Commissioner in Fuquay Varina, Peter Atwell and Laurie Clowers for Councilors for Town of Holly Springs, Bryan Gossage for Town Council in Apex and Liz Johnson for Commissioner in Morrisville.

The City of Raleigh Parks and Recreation Bond was endorsed as well as the Wake County Public Libraries, Wake Community College and Wake County Open Space Program Bond Referenda.

“RRAR has a strong history of voicing support for community infrastructure bonds.  In addition, as we face new challenges in the housing market, strong municipal leadership from our elected officials will be a critical part of our future success,” concluded Brookshire.
